The design of the house has enabled all the guest bedrooms and the dining room to have excellent views* and all the bedrooms are named after local landmarks. All our double beds are king size (6’ 6”x5’) or super-king size (6’6”x6’) and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities, with modern MIRA showers - ensuring ample delivery of hot water. The Applethwaite has the added benefit of a bath in addition to a shower.

All our bedrooms are equipped with flat screen TV’s with SKY Free View** provided to ensure good quality TV reception for your enjoyment. Tea and coffee making facilities and complementary toiletries are provided for guests' convenience. Bedrooms also include clock radios, hairdryers, colour TVs and DVD players. Guests may choose to bring along their favourite films, or borrow a film from our selection of DVDs in the dining room.

High Fold is completely centrally heated - with all bedrooms having controllable radiators.

* Star Crag has views of the fells to the West and East via Velux roof windows.

** Please note that only free-view channels are available and, although these offer many more channels than the main ITV and BBC channels, the main SKY channels, SKY sports, SKY movies or SKY box office channels are not available.

Applethwaite suite

This is our largest bedroom and is designed for those guests who wish to have a little extra space and comfort. The room includes a super-king size double bed and lounge area with sofa, coffee table and colour television.
Applethwaite is a double aspect room, with excellent views. The West facing window overlooks the old stone sheep fold after which High Fold takes its name and the pretty High Fold Farm cottage and converted barn. The East facing window has glorious views overlooking the Troutbeck valley, Jesus Church and the fells of Applethwaite common. The Garburn Pass to Kentmere can clearly be seen from the East facing window.

Applethwaite also has its own full size bathroom, with bath and shower facilities.

Kentmere

Kentmere, our four poster room, is named after the village and fells to the east of Troutbeck. This room has two windows - both of which offer fine views. The Troutbeck valley and Applethwaite are overlooked from the east facing window, whilst the north window looks out towards the fells around the Tongue and Troutbeck Park. The peaks of Yoke, Ill Bell and Froswick lie to the North. Kentmere has a king size four poster bed and an en-suite shower room.

Park Fell

Park Fell has stunning views looking to the North towards the fells of the same name and the fells around Troutbeck Park and the Tongue can be viewed from the window. The room overlooks one of several bridle paths in Troutbeck - this particular one leading to Jesus Church at the bottom of Troutbeck valley. The room is fitted with a King size double bed and includes an en-suite shower room.

Kirkstone

Located in the Eaves of the house Kirkstone looks North towards the famous Kirkstone pass - and also East to Applethwaite. The peaks of Yoke, Ill Bell and Froswick may be viewed through the North facing window. A generously proportioned room with side window and Velux roof window Kirkstone contains a super king size bed and a single bed. This room can be utilised as double or twin room, or can also be arranged as a triple room, with three single beds. It contains an en-suite shower room.

Star Crag

Star Crag lies to the East of High Fold - and a particularly apt name for this bedroom. On a clear night Star Crag offers the opportunity to look up at the stars before drifting off to sleep. These are made all the more spectacular in this area due to the lack of light pollution from city lights - thereby creating a dark background to view the moon and stars.

This room is unique in having two Velux roof lights which make it a light and airy room during the day with fell views to the East and West. This room is a generously proportioned and contains a king size double bed and a single bed, making it useful as double, twin or triple room. Star Crag has an en-suite shower room.
